During the celebration of their 32nd wedding anniversary, Magic Johnson said to his wife Cookie, “I will always honor and support you.”
Today is a “very special anniversary” for Magic and Cookie Johnson, who are celebrating it together.
On Thursday, the legendary NBA player, who is now 64 years old, marked the occasion by posting an emotional message on Instagram.
Magic released a movie of endearing images of the pair throughout the years along with the comment, “Today and for many years to come, I celebrate my wife of 32 years, Cookie Johnson on this very special anniversary.” The tape also included the phrase “very special anniversary.”
After then, Magic said, “So it says in Matthew 19:6 that they are no longer two but one flesh.” I’m very happy that our love has stood the test of time since the Bible says that “what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
The former Laker athlete communicated his gratitude to his wife in a letter by writing, “I appreciate your unending love and the encouragement you give me each and every day.”
Magic continued, stating that Cookie’s “love for Christ, dedication to our family, and heart” drive him to “be the best man I can be.” Cookie was referring to Christ, our family, and her heart.
At the end of his caption, Magic made a commitment to say that he would “honor and support you in any way I can, now and forever.” “Many thanks for your service!”
In 1978, while Magic and Cookie were both students at Michigan State University, they began their sporadic courtship and eventually became a couple. They exchanged vows in front of close family and friends on September 14, 1999, in Magic’s hometown of Lansing, which is located in the state of Michigan.
“The reason I live today and the reason I work as hard as I do today is for my wife and family,” Magic told PEOPLE in 2016. “The reason I work as hard as I do today is for my wife and family.”
This past summer, the couple embarked on their expensive once-a-year trip through Europe. After the trip, Magic exclaimed, “This has been one of our best vacations because of the staff, chefs, and the yacht.” Magic’s comments came after the conclusion of the trip. “This past six months have flown by in a blink of an eye!”
Magic and Cookie started writing about their adventures on July 5, while they were in Antibes, France. While they were there, they went to a restaurant named Michelangelo for dinner.
During the summer of 2013, they invited guests such as Michael Jordan, Samuel L. Jackson, and Judge Greg Mathis to join them aboard their yacht.
We had a fantastic meal at the Da Paolino Ristorante, often known as the “lemon tree restaurant,” in Capri, Italy tonight. Johnson’s letter dated July 12th. And I got to hang out with Michael Jordan and his wife Yvette, Sam and LaTanya Jackson, Judge Greg and Linda Mathis, John and Vicki Palmer, and a whole bunch of other famous people.
On August 5, Magic expressed gratitude to all of their friends and family members who traveled with them in 2023 and said, “Cookie and I want to thank all of our friends that joined us!” We shared a lot of laughs, had some thought-provoking chats, and had some excellent food. Now that we have some time to ourselves, I intend to spend the next week going on dates with my significant other, making the most of our time together, and watching a lot of movies together.
The final leg of the couple’s holiday in Europe was spent in Croatia, where they were able to kick back and unwind. An Instagram post claims that Magic and Cookie “shared a beautiful night in Dubrovnik, Croatia” at the Nautika Restaurant. This claim is based on a post that the two of them published to their account.
Magic Johnson shared sweet photos with his wife on Instagram with a romantic caption. The couple enjoyed a romantic getaway in Dubrovnik, savoring the cuisine and taking in the breathtaking sights. They spent time reminiscing, watching movies, and cherishing happy moments together after 32 years of blissful marriage.
