In a cameo role, Hachimura will portray himself in promotional graphics drawn in the classic anime manner. The premiere of “The Adventures of Buri Buri Zaemon: Space Dunk Edition” is slated for November 4, and Hachimura will appear in it.
Hachimura will reportedly use the biggest slam dunk of his career to try and deflect a meteorite off its course toward Earth in this episode.
It’s greаt tо see the Lаkers fоrwаrd receive the kudоs аnd the оppоrtunity tо stаr in the аnime series, especiаlly becаuse he’s been such а cruciаl element in the success оf the frаnchise since jоining them just befоre the trаde deаdline оf lаst seаsоn. They sаy Hаchimurа аnd his fаmily аre huge fаns оf the shоw, sо fоr him tо mаke аn аppeаrаnce оn it is like а “dreаm cоme true.”
The Lakers played the former No. 9 overall pick in 33 games during the 2022–23 season, with nine of those games being starts.
Hachimura finished the 2022-23 season averaging 11.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game on 48.6% field goal shooting and 31.96% three-point shooting.
Hachimura was a restricted free agent this past offseason, but the Lakers made sure to keep him around for the upcoming season. The Lakers signed him to a three-year, $51 million contract.
Hachimura proved last year that he can offer a huge scoring boost off the bench for Los Angeles during their postseason run.
Four times during his time with the Lakers, the alum of Gonzaga University scored 20 or more points. His best game was in the series opener against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Hachimura was on fire from deep in that game, scoring 29 points while making five of six 3-point tries.
Hachimura is averaging 6.5 points and 1.5 rebounds through two games this season. So far this season, he hasn’t logged more than 20 minutes a game for the Lakers.
Hachimura’s continued success in Los Angeles could lead to other options for him away from the court, such as voicing a character in an anime.
It’s feasible that Lakers supporters may find a method to view both the episode featuring Hachimura and the Lakers game against the Orlando Magic on November 4.
